Honeywell has just completed a series of around-the-world flight tests with its Boeing 757 flying tech lab. The flights were meant to test Honeywell’s JetWave Wi-Fi system.

Honeywell’s JetWave system, which uses the Inmarsat Global Xpress network of 3 Ka-Band satellites, received the FAA’s certification for the Boeing 757 in the beginning of the year after almost 200 hours of onboard flight tests. In June, the same technology was certified for use with Airbus A320 aircraft and Bombardier Global 5000 and 6000. Airlines are planning to start utilizing JetWave hardware in 2017.
