Laudamotion opens bases in Vienna and Berlin
Laudamotion opened two bases in Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL) and Vienna International Airport (VIE) on June 1, 2018, and is to offer European travel destinations.The airline emerged from NIKI, daughter company of Air Berlin (AB1) .
Laudamotion, partner of the Irish company Ryanair which acquired a 24.9% stake in the company on March 2018 and projects to eventually take over the company, will begin daily flights from Berlin. In total, the Berlin airline will connect passengers with 18 travel destinations in Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy and Croatia. A large number of the flights will be carried out in partnership with the Irish low cost carrier. .
The airline will permanently station four Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft in Vienna. The base will be expanded when the winter flight schedule takes effect to include six additional aircraft for a total of ten planes.
