Keynotes on Global AP&M MRO Expo in London
The Global MRO Procurement Summit and Expo welcomed more than 200 exhibitors and over 3700 attendees from the commercial aviation aftermarket, looking for new business partnership and networking opportunities. Among attending buyers were AirAsia, Air France, Bombardier Aerostructures and Services, Eurowings, flydubai, FlyBe, Turkish Airlines Technic and other well-established names.
The Expo, first held in 2003, is now considered to be the leading airline purchasing and maintenance event in commercial aviation. During the event products of Aircraft Maintenance, Technical Procurement, Supply Chain Management alongside with Airport Construction, Design and Building Materials related to aviation industry were showcased.
More than 100 attendees gathered to attend the Summit, which preceded the exhibition, to share the insights related to current maintenance and manufacturing strategies with the industry leaders and decision-makers. During the panel discussions and presentations on industry aftermarket trends attendants had a chance to take stock of the most actual topics in the sector, including the perspective of spare parts market, efficiencies in the supply chain, Big Data implementation possibilities and more. The format of the summit presupposed the combination of both knowledge sharing platform and networking opportunities.
During the panel discussion on Aviation Aftermarket Overlook Richard Brown, the VP of ICF international has reviewed the global MRO trends and challenges to give his opinion on what are most winning aftermarket investment opportunities for the following year. He mentioned the overall beneficial current state of MRO market, as the fuel prices are getting lower, and the airlines are more profitable. This brings more requests for MRO sector to come up with new solutions for aircraft interiors, in-flight entertainment facilities, etc.
Two exhibition days were full of exclusive formal and informal networking events, with “Meet the Buyers” as one of the most memorable of them all. In just 4 hours exhibitors had face-to-face 10 minute meetings with potential customers and suppliers to learn more about their capabilities.
The next Global MRO Procurement Expo is going to take place on 5-6 June, 2019, in Messe Frankfurt, Germany.
