Jet MS acquires RAS Group: extends services to London Biggin Hill
On March 2nd, 2021, Jet MS, a global provider of base and line maintenance services for business and regional aircraft, and a part of the global aerospace business group Avia Solutions Group, acquired the UK-based RAS Group, comprising of RAS Completions Limited and RAS Interiors Limited. RAS Group is a long-established aircraft interior, exterior, and completions company specialising in interior repairs, manufacturing, and exterior paint refinishing for both VIP and Commercial aircraft.
Founded in 1996, RAS Group is based at London Biggin Hill Airport, a world-renowned centre for international business aviation. RAS Group’s wide range of aviation services, including aircraft exteriors, VIP and business jet interiors, commercial interiors, paintwork protection, aircraft interior design, aircraft seating, helicopter painting, military aircraft painting and coatings, aircraft galleys, and cabin stowage, makes the acquisition a valuable one-stop-shop for all aircraft interior and exterior requirements and acts as a bolster for Jet MS’s existing position in the market.
Only 12 miles from Canary Wharf and 15 miles from Central London, London Biggin Hill Airport is one of the busiest private airports in Europe. In terms of total aircraft movements in 2020, London Biggin Hill ranked second in the UK after Farnborough and sixth in the continent overall. The airport boasts a thriving ecosystem of resident aviation companies and is home to Bombardier’s European service centre, a 23,000 square meter world-class facility capable of servicing as many as 14 Global 7500 aircraft simultaneously.
In addition to RAS Group’s excellent suite of interior and completion services, Jet MS plans to expand the offering to include base maintenance, line maintenance, and spare parts trading services to its clients. To further these goals and ambitions the Jet MS team is working in close cooperation with the airport team with a focus on further improving and expanding capabilities and employment opportunities for the future.
Jet MS’s CEO, Vytis Žalimas said: “The acquisition of RAS Group gives Jet MS a valuable and complementary range of services to offer its international clients. We are excited to welcome RAS Group’s founders Russell Pitt and Chris Ransley, along with their industry-leading team, to our growing family of aviation professionals and we are thrilled about the next chapter of growth for our enlarged and strengthened group of businesses.”
RAS Group is a welcome addition to the already comprehensive range of aviation services provided by Jet MS and is welcomed as a valuable member of the Avia Solutions Group. RAS Group will enhance the Avia Solutions Group’s position as a preferred partner for customers and as an increasingly desirable company for employees.
