Emirates to resume transatlantic flight between Milan and New York
Emirates announced service would resume between Milan Malpensa (MXP) and New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) from June 1, 2021.
The Milan-New York JFK flight will be an extension to Emirates’ existing flight EK205 from Dubai to Milan, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER. “Emirates has recently reaffirmed its commitment to the US with the resumption of services to 11 gateways (including Orlando and Newark in June),” stated the airline. “The resumed service between Dubai-Milan-JFK will offer more choice to travelers heading from Europe, the Middle East, West Asia, and Africa via Dubai or Milan as well as give seamless access to other US cities beyond New York via the airline’s codeshare agreement with Jetblue.”
Emirates plans to carry out a special flight with an all-vaccinated crew on April 10, 2021, to highlight the UAE’s progress in its vaccination campaign. In early March 2021, the carrier counted that it has already fully or partially vaccinated 60% of the crew. To date, over 8 million vaccines have been administered in the UAE, protecting more than half of its population.
