UNI Air ATR-72 makes emergency landing after double tire rupture
A UNI Air ATR 72-600 aircraft suffered double wheel bursts, forcing the aircraft to make an emergency landing back at its departure destination, Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA), in Taiwan.
The UNI Air ATR 72-600 aircraft, registered as B-17010, departed from Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA) towards Matsu Nangan Airport (LZN), Taiwan. As it approached LZN airport, the pilot noticed that two tires were damaged and decided to turn the aircraft back to Taipei where it made an emergency landing.
The UNI Air ATR 72-600 aircraft, with 74 people onboard, landed smoothly. No passengers or crew were injured during the incident.
After the incident, the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) of Taiwan has dispatched personnel to the scene to inspect the aircraft. The investigators later found that both right wheels had ruptured, according to the Central News Agency (CNA).
