A Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air noticed promising trends of passenger numbers growth in August 2021 ‒a peak month for summer travel. 

The traffic figures of August 2021 showed that Wizz Air carried 3.58 million travelers which is around 50% more than the same period in 2020. 

The air carrier’s load factor and capacity also surged to 83.6% and improved by 12.7 points. The company noticed a 27.5% rise in its capacity compared to the same period in 2020.

In August, the low-cost carrier continued expansion in its Sarajevo International Airport (SJJ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where it deployed a second Airbus A320 family jet. Six aircraft were deployed to a base at Tirana International Airport (TAI), Albania, where the airline plans to add more routes for the upcoming winter season.

Wizz Air plans to expand its network by adding new services connecting Germany and Denmark as well as flights from North Macedonia to Germany and Italy in December 2021.
