Breeze Airways to expand network with new routes in 2022

American low-cost startup airline Breeze Airways announced it is expanding its route network with new destinations. The carrier also released the launch date of its first service to New York, US. 

The newcomer to the American low-cost airline market will boost its route portfolio for 2022. Starting on February 18, 2022, the carrier plans to launch a new four times weekly passenger service between Long Island (ISP), New York and Norfolk (ORF), Virginia as well flights connecting Long Island (ISP) and Charleston (CHS) twice a week.  

From February 19, 2022, Breeze Airways will begin offering flights from West Palm Beach (PBI) to six destinations: Akron-Canton (CAK), Charleston (CHS), Columbus (CMH), Norfolk (ORF), Richmond (RIC), New Orleans (MSY). 

With this latest update, Breeze Airways will serve a network of 42 routes across 18 destinations. 

Most recently, in October 2021, the carrier announced that it had added a new Airbus A220-300 passenger jet to its existing fleet. At the time, David Neeleman, the founder of Breeze Airways, disclosed that the company would expand the fleet with a total of 80 airplanes of the type, all dedicated to serving the airline’s regional and long-haul operations.  

Currently, the carrier operates a mixed fleet of 14 aircraft, including 10 Embraer ERJ-190s, three Embraer ERJ-195, and a single airbus A220-300 jet. The type of airplane that will be used to serve the new planned routes is yet to be announced.
