Pakistan plans to buy more CN235s
Pakistan is interested to buy additional CN235-200s from Indonesian Aerospace Industry, as Pakistan Armed Forces Commander in Chief, General Rashad Mahmood, visited the aircraft manufacturer on September 22, 2016.
Pakistan is now operating four CN235-220s as military and VIP transport. The Commander showed his interest with the MSA / MPA / ASW (Maritime Surveillance/ Maritime Patrol Aircraft/ Anti-Submarine Warfare) model of the CN235-220.
Mahmood stated: "The aircraft are relevant enough and will meet the needs of the future, not only for the Pakistan Navy but also for the Pakistan Air Force and Army."
CN235-220 is the latest generation of CN-235 Family which is able to accommodate four mission consoles, detecting small targets, equipped with FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) to detect and classify targets and be able to record the situation for evaluation missions.
