Aeroflot has taken delivery of its 44th Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) on June 26, 2018. The aircraft with the registration number RA-89112 is named in honour of the Soviet test pilot and twice Hero of the Soviet Union Vladimir Kokkinaki.

The Russian-built Sukhoi Superjet 100 is configured with 12 seats in business class and 75 seats in economy class. The new SSJ100 will start operating on Aeroflot routes in the coming weeks.

Vladimir Kokkinaki was the first to perform a Nesterov Loop in an Ilyushin DB3 bomber, and in the same aircraft completed non-stop flights from Moscow to Spassk-Dalniy in the Far East and from Moscow to Miscou Island in North America.

Aeroflot is the largest operator of Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. The airline plans to expand its fleet by another six new SSJ100 in the near future, bringing the total number of Russian-built jets in Aeroflot’s fleet to fifty.
