Poland decided against deal with Airbus for 50 Caracals
The Polish government has decided against buying 50 Airbus Helicopters-manufactured H225M Caracal helicopters, which were negotiated for by the former Cabinet.
“Poland considers the negotiations with Airbus Helicopters regarding the acquisition of multi-purpose Caracal helicopters for the Polish army to be over. The manufacturer has not provided an offer that would duly fulfil the economic and safety needs of the Polish state,” a government official said.
The deal worth more than $3 billion, if realized, would have become one of the largest modernization projects for the Polish army. The country’s Ministry of Defense, however, stated that different positions of the two parties made the possibility of a compromise impossible.
