The Polish carrier, LOT, has executed a strategic partnership agreement with the Estonian national carrier, Nordica, and is intending to take up 49% of shares in its subsidiary, Regional Jet, which operates a fleet of Bombardier CRJ family.

Starting on the 19th of November 2016, LOT will use its designator for all connections from Tallinn. One of the Embraer planes, owned by the company, will also be temporarily based in the capital of Estonia. At the same time, two Bombardier CRJ-900 planes will start performing direct flights from Warsaw for LOT.

The agreement will also enable LOT to use two CRJ-900 aircraft, with the crews, of Nordica’s subsidiary, Regional Jet, with a possibility of expanding the number to three, for serving LOT flights from Warsaw.

Air Lease Corporation announced the placement of six new 737 MAX 8s with CFM Leap-1B engines on long-term lease to LOT Polish Airlines. In addition to the six firm lease placements, the agreement includes the option to lease five new 737 MAX 8s, to be confirmed by early 2017. All eleven aircraft are from ALC’s order book with Boeing.
 

Nordica is an Estonian national carrier, established in 2015 by the decision of the Estonian government, after closing of Estonian Air airline. The airline is based in Tallinn, from where it serves over a dozen European destinations.
