American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) is expanding its regional activities with two contracts signed on May 3, 2018, with Embraer and Bombardier. The U.S. based airline will acquire fifteen CRJ900 from the first, and fifteen E175 from the latter.

The Canada-based Bombardier announced on March 3, 2018, it sold 15 regional twin-engine CRJ900 to American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) . This $719 million contract includes an option for fifteen more aircraft.

As for Embraer, the catalogue value of the fifteen E175s is about $705 million, also with an option for fifteen more. They should be delivered between March and November 2019.

The regional planes will both be configured with 76 seats divided in two classes. The E175 will go to Envoy, while PSA Airlines should see the CRJ900 added to its fleet which already comprises three models from the CRJ family.
