AviaAM Leasing, Avion Express sing lease for two Airbus A321s
Avion Express signed a leasing agreement with AviaAM Leasing for two Airbus A321 aircraft. Under the operating lease agreement, Avion Express will operate the aircraft for the next 6 years. Both aircraft will operate for Thomas Cook Airlines during the summer season.
The two A321 aircraft will join the 10 aircraft already leased out to the British leisure airline, making a total of 12 Airbus A320 family aircraft flying for Thomas Cook Airlines this year.
Both aircraft were produced in 2007 and are empowered by CFM56-5B 3/P engines. Prior to the delivery, a MRO company - FL Technics - conducted a comprehensive set of works, including reconfiguration into 220 Y, A-check and C-check respectively before the transfer to the operator.
“We are very happy to have signed partnership with AviaAM Leasing. As Avion Express expands, enhancing its position as a forward-thinking market leader, we hope to further strengthen this partnership and implement our future projects with the support from AviaAM Leasing,” says Darius Kajokas, CEO of Avion Express in a statement.
“We are glad to provide Avion Express with two aircraft that are fully refurbished and ready for the upcoming travels. It is a great pleasure to work with a Lithuanian company. I am sure this cooperation will be a great base for our future work and possible fleet expansion for this world-known international company,” commented Tadas Goberis, CEO and Chairman at AviaAM Leasing in a separate statement.
AviaAM Leasing is a Warsaw Stock Exchange listed global aviation holding company, engaged in commercial aircraft acquisition, leasing and sales. Avion Express is the largest narrow-body ACMI operator in the world working in Europe, South America, Asia-Pacific and the Caribbean regions.
In 2018 Avion Express will operate 18 Airbus A320 family aircraft, abovementioned two included.
