On September 3, 2026, Air Canada announced a number of new routes which it will start operating in the summer of 2027.
This network expansion, which had been widely anticipated in the industry, includes the launch of new long-haul services from Toronto-Pearson (YYZ), Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Vancouver (YVR) to points in Europe and China, as well as an increase in capacity to Latin American destinations.
Most of the new routes will be from Air Canada’s main hub in Toronto, with new nonstop links to Oslo (OSL), Norway, Shannon (SNN), on the west coast of Ireland, and Nice-Côte d’Azur (NCE), the gateway to the French Riviera.
Oslo will be operated four times per week starting in May 2027, while Shannon and Nice will start the following month and will be operated thrice and twice weekly, respectively.
Other destinations will also see increased capacity from Toronto are London Heathrow (LHR) and Shanghai (PVG), the latter becoming a daily service. Services to Guatemala City (GUA), due to start in December 2026 as a seasonal route, will be operated year-round.
On May 11, 2026, Air Canada will also start flying between Montréal and Basel EuroAirport (BSL) four times per week and, from June 16, 2027, to Dubrovnik, on Croatia’s Adriatic coast, three times per week.
The seasonal routes between Montréal and Tenerife (TFS), which is expected to start in October 2026, and the existing link to Lima (LIM) will be both upgraded to year-round services.
Routes to Oslo, Shannon and Basel will be operated by Air Canada’s new Airbus A321XLR single-aisle aircraft, while Nice and Dubrovnik will be served by Airbus A330 and B787 aircraft, respectively.
The Canadian flag carrier will also launch a year-round nonstop service between Vancouver and Guangzhou (CAN), which will run three times per week from May 2027 and will be operated by B787 aircraft.
