Airbus A330neo deliveries have been severely hampered over the summer after concerns surfaced around the aircraft’s horizontal tail plane, or horizontal stabilizer, according to Bloomberg.
On September 3, 2026, the news outlet reported that Airbus staff were forced to inspect every A330neo, slowing the production system down.
Airbus’ own delivery data for June and July 2026, shows that no A330neo aircraft were delivered over that two-month period.
While the figures for August 2026 have not yet been officially released, according to Bloomberg, only a single A330neo was delivered to Starlux Airlines.
Before August 2026, Airbus delivered nine A330neos across the year. While there were no A330neo deliveries in January and February 2026, Airbus delivered three in March 2026, two in April 2026 and four in May 2026.
In a statement, Airbus told Bloomberg that “the root cause is identified and A330 deliveries have resumed”. Airbus described the issue as “isolated”.
Based on previous projections, Airbus aims to deliver around four A330neos each month. The company hopes to raise that to five a month in 2029.
It remains to be seen whether A330neo deliveries accelerate in the coming months as Airbus works through the new backlog.
Airbus deliveries so far in 2026
On August 7, 2026, Airbus confirmed that it delivered 67 aircraft in July 2026 to 39 customers. Total deliveries currently stand at 418 against 373 at the same point in 2025.
In July 2026, Airbus published its half year and second quarter results, with the company reaffirming its ambition to deliver around 870 commercial aircraft in 2026.
