Avincis, Europe’s largest emergency aerial services operator, has signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters for up to 15 H145 helicopters, the companies announced on June 15, 2026.

The new aircraft will join Avincis’ existing fleet across the company’s network, with a particular focus on strengthening operations in the Nordic countries, Italy, and Spain.

Airbus said that the helicopters will be used primarily for Helicopter Emergency Medical Services, as well as other mission types such as offshore transportation.

John Boag, CEO of Avincis Group, said the H145 suits the demands of the company’s mission-critical work, citing the aircraft’s reliability and performance in difficult operating conditions.

“The H145 is the ideal platform for our mission-critical operations, providing the reliability and performance required to save lives and protect communities in the most challenging environments,” he said.

Boag added that expanding the fleet would give crews up-to-date technology to continue delivering emergency services and offshore transportation across the company’s European territories.

“We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with Airbus as we modernise our fleet for the future,” he said.

Matthieu Louvot, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, said the agreement reflects the versatility of the H145, which he described as capable of shifting between life-saving medical missions and the demands of offshore wind and energy transport.

“This agreement underscores the versatility of the H145 as a multi-mission powerhouse, capable of transitioning seamlessly from life-saving EMS duties to the demanding requirements of offshore wind and energy transport,” he said. Louvot added that the manufacturer’s aim is to supply Avincis with reliable and efficient aircraft suited to complex operational environments.

Avincis ranks among the world’s leading aerial emergency services operators, providing aviation services to the civil sector with the goal of saving lives, safeguarding communities, and protecting the environment. The company operates a fleet of more than 220 aircraft and employs a team of over 2,400 professionals, including pilots, crews, and technicians. Its bases span Spain, Portugal, Italy, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, with additional operations in Mozambique and Chile.

The H145 has a substantial track record in service worldwide. More than 1,800 helicopters in the H145 family are currently operating, having logged a combined total of over 8.5 million flight hours. The aircraft is powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines and equipped with full authority digital engine control, known as FADEC, along with the Helionix digital avionics suite.

Its features include a four-axis autopilot designed to improve safety and reduce pilot workload. According to Airbus, the H145 is the quietest helicopter in its class, with a low acoustic footprint, and produces the lowest carbon dioxide emissions among its competitors.
