Singapore’s Changi Airport (SIN) is turning itself into a football hub for the 2026 World Cup season, with free match screenings, airport-wide activities, and a short film featuring members of the Singapore men’s national football team.

The campaign, launched on June 11, 2026, is built around a film titled “Where The World Comes To Play,” which follows a football being passed across some of the airport’s most recognizable spots, including the Jewel Rain Vortex, The Wonderfall, and Dreamscape.

The cast includes national team captain Hariss Harun, players Jacob Mahler, Kyoga Nakamura, Shawal Anuar, and Tyan Foong, head coach Gavin Lee, and a cameo from Singapore football legend Fandi Ahmad.

“Football is a universal language that brings people together, much like how Changi Airport and Jewel connect travelers from across the globe,” said Kelvin Ng, Vice President of Corporate and Marketing Communications at Changi Airport Group. “This film is our celebration of the Singapore national team and the players who dedicate themselves to the sport.”

Free match screenings across all terminals

From June 12 to July 20, 2026, visitors and transit passengers can watch World Cup matches for free at the airport. Public screenings will be held on the ultra-high-definition LED screen at ST3PS in Terminal 3 Basement 2, while TV lounges across the transit areas of Terminals 1 through 4 will also carry matches.

Late-night and 24-hour dining options will be available to keep fans fed through late kickoffs, along with shopping and dining deals curated for the football season.

Activities and prizes

On the public side, visitors can take on a Football Champions Trail at Terminal 3, completing quizzes and challenges to unlock rewards worth more than SGD 50 (US$39) in total, including shopping and dining deals and a complimentary ticket to the Bouncing Net at Jewel Canopy Park upon completing the trail.

Transit passengers can test their balance, strength, and reflexes in football-themed activities for a chance to win prizes, including a top prize of 200,000 Changi Rewards points worth SGD 1,000 (US$780).

Singapore’s national team gets the spotlight

Head coach Gavin Lee said the film was a welcome change of pace. “Instead of our routine passing through Changi Airport to travel overseas for training and matches, having a kickabout right at the heart of the terminals and Jewel was a refreshing experience for the team,” he said.

Lee added that with the Lions gearing up for the ASEAN Championship Hyundai Cup and Asian Cup, moments like these help the squad build stronger connections with supporters.
