Chinese car maker Chery has announced the launch of two new eVTOL concepts under the Lingxiao brand during its annual Global Innovation Conference, which took place in Wuhu in Anhui province on October 20, 2026.

Information about the status or development timeframe for these two aircraft programs is scarce for now, but Chery has shared some of the basic specifications of each of the eVTOLs during the conference.

The Lingxiao Q212 is an all-electric, two-seat eVTOL with a compound-wing and a lift and cruise propulsion architecture. It should be able to reach speeds of up to 120 km/h and has a flight endurance of around an hour at full load.

The other eVTOL concept, called Lingxiao J506, is somewhat larger, as it is a five-seat tiltrotor aircraft. Although no specific details about the propulsion have yet been shared publicly, its top speed (over 350 km/h) and 1,000 km range suggest some type of hybrid propulsion system.

Both aircraft are crewed, although the Lingxiao J506 is reported to have been designed to support autonomous flights potentially, too.

This is not the first time that Chery has showcased an advanced air mobility concept.

In 2024, the Chinese car maker unveiled a modular ‘land and air vehicle’ at Beijing’s Auto China trade show, and later at its own 2024 Global Innovation Conference in Wuhu. That concept, however, was different from the latest two eVTOLs it has announced.

The land and air vehicle consisted of a small detachable eVTOL which would be carried on top of a car chassis. This is a concept similar to that being developed by Aridge, the aerospace subsidiary of another Chinese car maker, XPeng. According to reports that have appeared in Chinese media, Chery’s land and air vehicle may have completed a successful test flight distance of 80 kilometres, although this information could not be independently verified.

AeroTime has reached out to Chery for comment.
