Photos have emerged on social media purporting to show a COMAC CE-25A electric aircraft demonstrator standing an airfield

Reddit threads have been awash with comments since October 26, 2026, when the pictures first seemed to come to light.

While AeroTime has not been able to verify the photos, and cannot completely rule out the use of AI, they do at least appear to be genuine.

COMAC unveiled the concept for CE-25A all-electric aircraft in 2023 at the China International Import Expo.

The aircraft was described as a 19-seat all-electric regional commuter aircraft with a range of between 400 and 600 milometers and a maximum cruising speed of 400 kilometers per hour.

At the time COMAC said that the CE-25A can “meet the needs of short and medium hall mass passenger transportation and high-end business”.

“At present, the CE-25A has completed the experimental aircraft verification flight,” the company said in 2023.

The CE-25A has been designed to be powered by wing-mounted ducted fans, which can clearly be seen in the latest demonstrator photos.

The photos shared online this week show a red and dark colored aircraft with COMAC and CE-25A positioned on the outer fuselage. The registration number appears as B-0EFH.

In July 2025, COMAC also announced it was partnering with CATL, a battery manufacturer also based in China.

The two companies were also working with Shanghai Jiao Tong University to research new battery-powered aircraft concepts.
