Delta Air Lines has confirmed that the first non-stop flights to Israel will restart next month with the resumption of its New York to Tel Aviv service.
On August 26, 2026, Delta Air Lines said daily flights between New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) will start on September 6, 2026.
The carrier stopped flying to Tel Aviv on February 28, 2026, when the US and Israel launched strikes against Iran.
In a statement, Delta said following a “thorough review of the evolving security environment in the region” it would recommence the route in just under two weeks.
“The safety and security of our customers and employees remain our top priority, and Delta will continue to monitor the situation closely in coordination with aviation authorities and government agencies,” a spokesperson for the airline said.
The first flight departing New York will arrive in Israel on September 7, 2026, and return to JFK later that day. The flight will operate on Delta’s Airbus A330-900neo aircraft.
Last month United Airlines, said it would resume its service from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Tel Aviv on September 8, 2026.
United is also restarting its service from San Francisco Airport (SFO) to Tel Aviv on March 28, 2027.
