Embraer and Japan Airlines have extended an E170 and E190 maintenance, repair and spare-parts agreement to support the carrier’s fleet of 32 E-Jets.

On September 20, 2026, the two companies announced they had renewed a multi-year agreement, continuing their long-standing relationship.

The agreement will provide support for a wide range of repairable components for Japan Airlines’ E-Jets fleet, “helping to enhance aircraft reliability”.

The solution also includes a significant inventory of components available close to the customer’s operations, “ensuring rapid access to critical parts and minimizing operational disruptions”.

“Through this contract renewal with Embraer, we reinforce our commitment to securing high-quality components and, above all, ensuring the absolute safety of our flight operations,” Yuta Kawaguchi, Executive Officer, Vice President, JAL Engineering Co. Ltd, Material and Component Services, said.

According to Embraer, Japan Airlines’ E-Jets six-month service reliability average stands at 99.8%.

“Through our Pool Program, we are committed to providing the reliability, responsiveness and operational support needed to maximize the E-Jets’ performance,” Carlos Naufel, President and CEO, Embraer Services and Support, said.

Embraer has been present in the Asia Pacific region since its first aircraft operated there in 1978.

More than fifteen airlines across seven countries in the Asia Pacific region currently operate the E-Jets.
