Armenian carrier FlyOne Armenia ordered two Airbus A321neo aircraft, the European planemaker announced on September 30, 2026.
This order, which is also FlyOne’s first direct order with Airbus, confirms the terms laid out in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during the official visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Armenia in May 2026.
These two aircraft, which will further support the growth of the Erevan-based carrier, represent a significant addition in terms of capacity. According to ch-aviation data, as of September 2026, FlyOne Armenia has a fleet of six active aircraft (four A320s, one A321 and one A319 ACJ used for VIP services) and uses another six aircraft which are wet leased from other companies (four A320s, one A321 and one B737-500).
FlyOne Armenia, which is the largest carrier in the Caucasian republic, operates under a low-cost carrier model with its aircraft fitted with an all-economy configuration. The new A321neo aircraft will be fitted with a single 239-seat cabin. The two aircraft will be powered by LEAP-1A engines made by CFM International.
Although FlyOne Armenia is reportedly a separate entity controlled by local Armenian shareholders, it does have links to the Moldovan airline of the same name.
Since 2025 the latter has been embroiled in a legal dispute with the Moldovan government, which is demanding that the airline clarify its connection to other foreign airlines. Moldovan security services also wanted to prove the relationship between the airline’s managerial team and Vladimir Plahotniuc, a jailed oligarch with alleged Russian ties, who is also active in Moldova’s convulse political scene.
FlyOne’s management denies these allegations and has stated it will defend its case in Moldovan and international courts.
