Latvian airline airBaltic unveiled its 40th A220-300 aircraft in a special livery that features the colors of the Latvian flag.

“More than six years ago, airBaltic became the global launch operator of the A220-300 aircraft,” President and CEO of airBaltic, Martin Gauss, said during a special ceremony. “Over the years, the aircraft type has grown to be the backbone of our operations, and we continue to be a proud ambassador of it.”

AirBaltic’s 40th A220-300 aircraft, registered as YL-ABN, is set to join the airline’s fleet in early April 2023. A special event will also be held in Riga, Latvia, to celebrate this milestone. This will be the second A220-300 in the airline’s fleet with a special Latvian flag livery.

In 2018, airBaltic introduced its first special-livery aircraft, an exclusive Airbus A220 featuring Latvia’s national flag. The airline presented this aircraft as a gift to Latvia to commemorate the country’s centenary. Two other liveries, one for Lithuania and one for Estonia, were introduced the following year.
