Indian Air Force releases names of five personnel killed in An-32 crash tragedy

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released photos and the names of the five personnel killed in the recent Antonov An-32 aircraft crash tragedy.

The five deceased men were named as Sqn Ldr Prashant Singh, Flt Lt Shubham Kumar, Sgt Jitendra Sharma, Agniveervayu Khemaram Kumawat and Agniveervayu Danish Alam.

The Indian Air Force said the deceased individuals “made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty” and that it “deeply regrets the loss”.

According to the IAF, the crash occurred on June 13, 2026, around 10:00, local time, while the An-32 was landing at Jorhat, Assam, after conducting a routine sortie.

“Crash site management and initial enquiries are on at this time. IAF requests everyone to refrain from speculation till preliminary results are not in,” the Indian Air Force said.

The air force added: “IAF deeply regrets the loss of lives and stands firmly with the bereaved families in this time of grief. IAF will share more details as they are in.”

Photos of the crash site were shared on social media showing the aircraft severely damaged. It has been reported that a sixth person was rescued from the aircraft but remains in a serious condition.

The Defense Minister of India, Rajnath Singh, said: “Deeply anguished by the loss of five Air Warriors in the An-32 accident at Jorhat, Assam. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The nation stands firmly with them in this hour of grief.”
