Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines have launched joint fare products for travel between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, deepening a partnership that the two carriers formalized earlier this year.

The joint business arrangement, which received regulatory approval in January 2026, builds on an existing codeshare agreement and gives passengers more fare options when flying between the two capital cities. The airlines say the collaboration also improves connectivity across their combined networks.

New fare products and benefits

The joint fare products offer passengers a wider range of pricing and flexibility options on flights between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. The two airlines are also working on additional benefits, including reciprocal lounge access, coordinated flight schedules, and joint corporate travel arrangements.

Bryan Foong, Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business at Malaysia Aviation Group, said the partnership marks a significant step forward.

“By introducing joint fare products, we are giving our customers greater choice, improved flexibility, and a more seamless travel experience,” Foong said. “This collaboration also lays the foundation for deeper integration across our networks, ultimately benefiting both leisure and business travelers.”

Lee Lik Hsin, Chief Commercial Officer at Singapore Airlines, said the expanded fare options give passengers more convenience when planning trips.

“As we deepen our collaboration, we will continue to combine our strengths to enhance both airlines’ offerings and deliver greater value to customers, while strengthening the long-standing people-to-people connections and trade links between Singapore and Malaysia,” Lee said.

From codeshare to joint business

The two carriers signed a commercial cooperation framework agreement in October 2019 and have steadily expanded their collaboration since then. They currently codeshare on services across Malaysia, Singapore, Europe, and South Africa.

In February 2024, the airlines introduced reciprocal earning and redemption between their frequent flyer programs, Enrich and KrisFlyer, allowing members to earn and use miles or points on selected flights operated by either carrier.
