Qatar Airways returns to Helsinki and Tokyo Haneda, boosts summer connectivity

Qatar Airways is resuming flights to Helsinki and Tokyo Haneda starting July 15, 2026, bringing its global network to over 160 destinations this summer.

The expansion strengthens the carrier’s presence in both Europe and Asia, offering travelers more options for connecting through its hub at Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha.

Helsinki returns to the network

Qatar Airways will operate four weekly flights to Helsinki Airport (HEL) in Finland beginning July 15, 2026, increasing to daily service from August 1, 2026. The route is expected to benefit travelers connecting from Australia, Kenya, and Southeast Asia through Doha.

The initial schedule runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays:

Flight QR301 departs Doha at 08:40 local time and arrives in Helsinki at 15:30 local time.The return flight, QR302, departs Helsinki at 17:05 local time and arrives in Doha at 00:05 local time.

From August 1, 2026 additional flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays will bring the route to daily frequency. Flight QR303 departs Doha at 01:30 local time and arrives in Helsinki at 08:20 local time with the return flight QR304 departing Helsinki at 09:50 local time and arriving in Doha at 16:50 local time.

Tokyo Haneda complements Narita service

Qatar Airways is also returning to Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) with four weekly flights from July 15, 2026, ramping up to daily service from August 1, 2026.

The route complements the airline’s existing service to Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT) and is aimed at facilitating onward transfers within Japan for travelers arriving from Europe and the Middle East.

The initial schedule operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Flight QR812 departs Doha at 07:50 local time and arrives in Tokyo Haneda at 00:05 local time the following day. The return flight, QR813, departs Tokyo Haneda at 01:35 local time and arrives in Doha at 06:45 local time. Daily operations will begin August 1, 2026.

A growing summer network

The additions are part of Qatar Airways’ broader push to rebuild and expand its network this summer. With Helsinki and Tokyo Haneda now back on the map, the airline will serve more than 160 destinations across six continents.
