Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has announced that it will be displaying two air-launched weapons for the Sukhoi Su-57E for the first time at the El Alamein International Airshow 2026, which opened on September 8, 2026, at El Alamein International Airport (DBB) in Egypt.
UAC identified the weapons as the S-71M and S-71K, both intended for fifth-generation fighters. The announcement stated no dimensions, range, or payload figures.
S-71K cruise missile and S-71M autonomous attack weapon
The S-71K, known as Kovyor, is an air-launched cruise missile that incorporates a conventional aircraft bomb as its warhead. The bomb delivers an explosive payload inside a powered, guided airframe.
In an assessment published on April 27, 2026, Ukraine’s military intelligence agency (GUR) noted that the weapon carries a 250-kilogram fragmentation bomb and uses an R500 turbojet engine and inertial navigation. According to the agency, Russia first used it in combat in late 2025.
The S-71M, or Monokhrom, is intended to add autonomous target search and engagement. A related UAC patent published on March 28, 2024, describes an air-launched weapon using optical sensors and onboard target-recognition software to search within a designated area. The concept allows attacks to be authorized autonomously or by an operator.
Su-57E and Yak-130M lead Russian aircraft display
The Su-57E is taking part in the flying program as well as being on static display. Rosoboronexport, the state arms exporter organizing the joint Russian exhibit, said that the fighter would be exhibited with the RVV-MD2 short-range and RVV-BD long-range air-to-air missiles, the Kh-38MLE, the Kh-69 cruise missile and the Kh-58UShKE anti-radiation missile.
UAC highlighted that the upgraded Yak-130M combat trainer is on static display for the first time in the region. The first Yak-130M completed its maiden flight at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant on June 25, 2026.
Russia cites new Su-57E export contracts
According to Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, 35 Russian organizations are exhibiting more than 500 military items at El Alamein. Rosoboronexport chief executive Alexander Mikheev has claimed that the agency holds new contracts for the Su-57E, without identifying customers or quantities.
Algeria has been identified as a customer in reporting based on leaked Rostec documents, although the order has not been officially confirmed.
UAC chief executive Vadim Badekha said that North Africa is one of the most important regions for promoting the company’s products, with interest in Africa and the Middle East rising substantially after the combat use of its aircraft.
