Airbus delivered the second A350-1000 with the eye-catching “Airsorayama” livery to Taiwanese carrier Starlux Airlines.

“Silver Sorayama” (registration B-58553) was handed over to the airline during an event that took place at Airbus’ Delivery Center in Toulouse, France, on July 3, 2026.

This is the first of two A350-1000 which will sport a special livery devised by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama which will cover the entire fuselage of each of the aircraft in silver and gold metal hues, respectively.

The second one of this series, called “Gold Sorayama” was already spotted in Toulouse in April 2026, as it is heading for completion and delivery, as well.

The special metallized paint layer that covers the aircraft was developed jointly by Airbus and Germany-based paint maker Mankiewicz, specifically for this project.

“Silver Sorayama” is the second A350-1000 received by Starlux Airlines, out of 18 of the type that it has ordered.

Starlux Airlines has tweaked its A350 orderbook since it first ordered the type in 2018. Four of the initially ordered 12 A350-1000s were converted to A350-900s. However, during the 2025 Paris Air Show, the Taiwanese carrier placed another incremental order for 10 additional A350-1000s, bringing the total to 18.

Starlux Airlines’ A350-1000s are fitted with a 350-seat four-class cabin with four seats in First Class, 40 in Business, 36 in Premium Economy and 270 in Economy Class).

These widebody aircraft will allow Starlux Airlines to undertake a major international expansion that will see it adding new destinations in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America within the next few years.
