Swiss space startup SWISSto12 closed a US$70 million (approximately €61 million) Series C funding round, the company announced on July 16, 2026.
This is a significant amount for SWISSto12, which to date has raised just over US$100 million from several private investors.
In January 2026, the Swiss firm also secured an additional US$73 million (US$84.8 million) through the European Space Agency (ESA) HummingSat Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) Partnership Project, an initiative that is funded by several ESA members, such as Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Sweden and Norway, as well as Canada, which is an ESA associate member.
HummingSat is an ambitious project launched by SWISSto12, which has traditionally focused on developing multi-orbit payload and antenna solutions, to develop a small-sized geostationary (GEO) satellite.
The freshly raised funds will support the company’s efforts to scale its manufacturing and integration capacity in view of increased market demand for its technologies.
In 2025, SWISSto12 saw revenues of $140 million (€121 million). As of July 2026, the Swiss company also boasts an order book worth more than $500 million (€432 million), which includes commitments by several major satellite operators, such as SES and Viasat.
