Ukraine claimed to have damaged multiple Russian air defense and radar installations during a long-range drone strike in the Krasnodar region.
The operation took place on August 2, 2026, when Ukraine Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) launched coordinated drone strikes against military sites located more than 270 kilometers (around 168 miles) behind the front line. According to the Ukrinform report, the targets included a Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system and seven radar stations deployed across Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.
According to USF, the targeted equipment included a Tor-M2 short-range air defense system in Yeysk, as well as multiple radar systems, including Nebo-S, Nebo-U, Gamma-S1M, Nebo-SV, Kasta-2E2, and 37T radars. The installations were located in Yeysk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kamyshevatskaya, Pryhybskyy and Shabelskoy.
The claims were accompanied by video footage published by the Ukrainian military. Russia had not commented on the reported strikes or independently confirmed the reported losses at the time of publication.
The reported operation forms part of Ukraine‘s continuing campaign to target Russian military aviation and air defense infrastructure using long-range unmanned aerial systems.
In recent weeks, Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) has also reported strikes against a Pantsir-S1 air defense system, a Project 1100M Sargan patrol boat and a ground control station used for Forpost unmanned aerial vehicles in occupied territories. Earlier operations also reportedly targeted facilities at the Belbek, Saky, and Gvardiyske military air bases in Crimea, where Ukraine said aircraft, aviation infrastructure and drone storage facilities were damaged.
