United Airlines announced the expansion of its global routes with three new destinations and increasing flights to popular cities in its network.
Within the year, United will launch flights to the following new routes:
- John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) / Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK) starting October 24, 2024, three times weekly on a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft
- Narita International Airport (NRT) in Tokyo to Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) in the Philippines starting July 31, 2024, daily flights on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft
- Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to José María Córdova International (MDE) in Medellin, Colombia beginning October 27, 2024, daily flights on Boeing 737 aircraft
United said that it will also increase the frequency of its flights to popular destinations in its route such as:
- Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)
- Incheon International Airport in Seoul (ICN)
- Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO) in Porto, Portugal
Additionally, the airline will add four weekly flights between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) after the United States Department of Transport (DOT) allowed Chinese airlines to increase the number of weekly flights to the US to 50 starting March 31, 2024, up from the current 35.
