Due to improved government policies, increased investments in tourism and infrastructure, and more convenient visa options, tourism in Vietnam has grown significantly in recent years.

In 2024, the country received more than 17.5 million international visitors, representing a 39.5% increase compared to the previous year and achieving the set tourism target.

The new route announcement came after Vietjet posted strong financial results for the first half of 2025.

The airline reported air transport revenue of VND 35.6 trillion ($1.35 billion) and a pre-tax profit of nearly VND 1.6 trillion ($60.7 million), up 37% compared to 2024. Total consolidated revenue reached VND 35.8 trillion (about $1.36 billion), while pre-tax profit surpassed VND 1.65 trillion ($62.6 million), reflecting a remarkable 65% year-on-year growth.

The carrier operated 79,000 flights with 14.4 million passengers onboard from January to June 2025.

In the first half of the year, Vietjet ordered 20 A330neo aircraft from Airbus, bringing its total A330neo order to 40 and making it the airline with the largest A330neo order worldwide.

At the 2025 Paris Air Show, Vietjet made history by securing an order for 100 A321neo aircraft, along with 50 purchase options, the largest order announcement during the show.
