A Convair 440 Metropolitan cargo plane crashed and caught fire near Toledo-Express Airport, United States, killing the two people on board.
The privately-owned aircraft, registered N24DR, was operated by two people and was delivering car parts from Laredo International Airport (LRD), Texas, to Toledo-Express Airport (TOL), Ohio, with a stopover in Millington Regional Jetport (NQA), Tennessee.
While approaching its destination airport, the plane crashed on the premises of a truck company and caught fire. The fire has been extinguished. The death of the two pilots has been confirmed, no injury was reported on the ground.
The flight crew did not declare an emergency before the accident, according to local media 13abc. Images from the crash site show that the aircraft was completely destroyed.

The CV-440, which entered service with SAS, had been operating for 62 years.
On February 23, 2019, an Atlas Air Boeing 767-300 freighter crashed while operating flight 3591 for Amazon. The two crew members and one passenger on board were killed. The reasons behind the crash are still under investigation.
