RAF C-17 Globemaster makes emergency landing in Birmingham

About 20 minutes after taking off from RAF Brize Norton (BZZ), United Kingdom, a Royal Air Force C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft declared an emergency above Telford on February 12, 2021. It diverted to Birmingham Airport (BHX) where it carried out an emergency landing. No injuries or damages were reported at this time.

The Boeing C-17A Globemaster III, registered as ZZ175, belongs to the Number 99 Squadron specialized in strategic and tactical air transport based in RAF Brize Norton, the largest station of the Royal Air Force. The aircraft was delivered in 2008.

AeroTime News reached out to RAF Brize Norton for comment and did not receive an answer at the time of publication.
