The third and last Airbus A380 for the airline All Nippon Airways (ANA) made its maiden flight in Hamburg, Germany, showing off its very unique orange “Flying Honu” livery. The superjumbo will operate a route towards Hawaii in June 2020.
The aircraft, registered JA383A, rolled out in Hamburg, Germany on January 24, 2020. Delivery is expected in April, and the two daily rotations between Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) and Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) in Honolulu should start on June 1, 2020.

It is the third of three A380s expected to operate the route. The first superjumbo began flying the route in May 2019. The second joined in June of the same year. The superjumbos are taking over from the Boeing 777s that were previously employed on this popular route.
ANA’s A380s are organized in a 520-seat configuration divided into 4 classes: 8 seats in first class, 56 seats in business class, 73 seats in premium economy, and 383 seats in economy. They all sport a unique livery representing turtles of different colors: a blue one for the sky, emerald green for the sea and the last one, orange, for the sunset of Hawaii.
Airbus said ANA’s A380 livery is one of the most elaborate paint jobs ever done by the manufacturer. The jetliner spent 21 days at the Hamburg facility and was painted using 16 different shades of color.
