Boeing delivers 763 aircraft in 2017
The Boeing Company announced deliveries across its commercial and defense operations for the fourth quarter of 2017, in addition, to order results for 2017. Unsurprisingly, the results reveal that B737 remains the most popular commercial airplane, which continues to dominate charts of orders and delivers.
During the fourth quarter, the company delivered a total of 209 commercial and 42 military aircraft. The results also reveal that B737 remains the most popular model among the US manufacturer’s commercial airplanes, with B737 constituting around 70% of total deliveries.

As for the full year results, the company notes it made a total of 763 deliveries in 2017, driven by the “market-leading” 737 and 787 jets. Boeing also added 912 net orders from 71 customers in its backlog during the period, valued at $134.8 billion at list prices. The total extends Boeing's backlog to 5,864 airplanes – at year end – which is equal to about seven years of production.
„Boeing reached a new high on the 737 program as it raised production to 47 airplanes a month during the year and began delivering the new 737 MAX, contributing to a record 529 deliveries, including 74 of the MAX variety,“ Boeing annouced in a statement. „On the 787 Dreamliner program, Boeing continued building at the highest production rate for a twin-aisle jet, leading to 136 deliveries for the year“.
„Other major commercial airplanes milestones include the first flights of the 737 MAX 9 and the 787-10 Dreamliner, and the start of production of the 737 MAX 7 and the new 777X“, the company also adds.
