What does it mean to be a pilot at Wizz Air?
The upcoming Pilot Career Show is inviting pilots and cadets to meet leading airlines and pilot schools to get career advice, share experiences and ultimately land a dream job. Not sure what this might be? AeroTime talked with Wizz Air, the Hungarian low cost airline, to find out – what does it mean to be a pilot at the company.
What are the main values guiding Wizz Air work ethics?
Since the start of its operation, Wizz has become the largest low-cost airline of the Central-Eastern European region in less than 15 years. In the beginning of 2018, we offer over 600 routes to more than 140 destinations in 44 countries, operating from 28 bases in 16 countries. The Wizz fleet is rapidly growing and plans to exceed 100 by the first half of 2018. These incredible achievements couldn’t be earned without our reliable employees’ full dedication towards their work, their positivity which led us beyond our imagination and our mutual commitment for inclusivity and integrity, shaping our company culture as it is.
What are the main benefits of working for your company?
Working at Wizz Air means working at a multicultural company, which still maintains its familiar, friendly environment; it means flying to various exciting destinations on a very young and modern Airbus fleet with a wide variety of rosters with a healthy work-life balance.
In addition, we support the career development of our employees with many opportunities for growth. At Wizz, we are proud of our talented pilots, who are truly committed to become better every day. It is thanks to their contribution that Wizz is where it is now, and will continue to grow in the future.
What is the attitude you expect from your employees?
In response to the fast growth of our airline, we are looking for Direct Entry Captains, as well as Experienced and Cadet First Officers, because we believe that each and every professional can contribute to our success story. If you consider yourself a dedicated team player, with a positive, dynamic and ambitious attitude, if you are ready for new challenges and not afraid to take actions, we invite you to be part of the #IamWIZZcrew family of pilots and cabin crew, where a smile is always met with a smile in return.
In three words, how would you describe the work environment at your company?
We’re Wizz family.
