Qatar Airways said it has started operating a limited schedule of flights to and from Doha that will continue over the next several days, widening a cautious restart of service while Qatari airspace remains closed to normal commercial operations due to the war in Iran.
The airline said on March 9, 2026, the flights are possible only because the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority has approved limited operating corridors, and stressed that the schedule does not signal a full resumption of regular service.
The update marks a significant shift from the airline’s earlier contingency plan, which relied on relief flights from neighboring countries such as Oman and Saudi Arabia to move stranded passengers.
Qatar Airways had previously arranged repatriation flights from Muscat and Riyadh while Doha operations remained suspended. The new plan brings at least some traffic back through Hamad International Airport, though under tightly restricted conditions.
Under the latest schedule, Qatar Airways said flights departing Doha on March 9 would include Seoul Incheon, Moscow Sheremetyevo, London Heathrow, Delhi, Madrid, Islamabad, Beijing Daxing, Perth, Nairobi and Istanbul.
Starting on March 10, the airline said it would add services from Doha to Cairo, Jeddah, Manila, Kochi, Muscat, Mumbai, Frankfurt, Colombo and Milan, alongside several repeat destinations from the previous day. Return flights into Doha are set to follow on March 10 and 11.
Qatar Airways said scheduled operations remain temporarily suspended overall and told passengers not to go to the airport unless they hold a valid confirmed ticket. The carrier said it will resume normal operations only after the Qatari airspace closure is fully lifted by authorities.
The limited schedule underscores both the importance of Doha as a global connecting hub and the constraints airlines still face as the regional conflict continues to disrupt Gulf aviation. Qatar Airways had begun limited repatriation flying from Doha to several European cities after partial corridor access was granted, while broader air traffic through Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi remained heavily disrupted.
