Swiss cabin interiors specialist Bucher has been selected to provide galley and cabin monument solutions for Swiss International Air Lines’ Boeing 777-300ER retrofit program, extending a long-running partnership between the two companies.
The company announced on April 13, 2026, that the deal adds to its ongoing work on SWISS’s Airbus A330-300 retrofit program, part of the carrier’s wider “SWISS Senses” cabin renewal effort.
According to Bucher, the Boeing 777 retrofit will cover 12 aircraft, while the A330-300 program involves 14 jets. The company had previously supplied galleys and stowage units for both aircraft types in line-fit configuration.
For the 777-300ER retrofit, Bucher said the introduction of new seats led to changes in monument positions, creating an opportunity to redesign galley layouts. The updated configuration is intended to align with the “SWISS Senses” cabin concept while improving catering efficiency.

Among the features planned for the 777 retrofit is a galley waste deposit unit, a vacuum-based system designed to remove liquids and waste during flight. Bucher said the system is intended to reduce the risk of pipe blockages, lower maintenance needs, and limit operational disruptions. The retrofit also includes purser crew workstations equipped with an integrated inflight video control center.
On the A330-300, Bucher said its retrofit scope includes redesigned galleys and new stowage units with integrated self-service sections for both Business and Economy Class.
