It was announced on July 2, 2026, that French startup Elixir Aircraft has closed a €45 million funding round to continue funding its industrial and commercial development.
This additional round of funding has been led by French public investment bank Bpifrance through its SPI Fund. This financial organization is actively backing the France 2030 investment plan, an initiative that aims to foster France’s reindustrialization in strategic sectors.
Private investors such as venture capital firms Odyssée Venture and Innovacom have also participated in this round. The latter had already been an early investor in Elixir Aircraft.
Primarily, the fresh capital raised in this round will be used to boost the company’s industrial processes and consolidate its manufacturing processes at a single site, adjacent to La Rochelle Airport (LRC), in Western France.
At present, Elixir Aircraft has its production scattered across three different industrial sites around La Rochelle. In addition to the main facility by the airport, which serves as a final assembly line for its light trainer aircraft and corporate HQ, it operates two additional industrial sites, one to manufacture the wings and another one to make composite parts.
This consolidation will allow Elixir Aircraft to ramp up production to five aircraft per month. In the first half of 2026, the French manufacturer completed 16 aircraft, more than it achieved in the whole of 2025. In fact, production rate has trebled, and Elixir’s workforce has more than doubled since 2024 when the company closed its latest funding round.
While conventionally powered, Elixir’s light aircraft is a clean-sheet design inspired by technologies drawn from the world of high-performance sailing, such as the proprietary carbon OneShot technology. Based around a large, single composite airframe, this manufacturing process delivers weight savings and reduces the number of parts and components needed while delivering a strong aerodynamic performance.
Elixir Aircraft has already distributed 60 of its aircraft to customers in France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, and Greece. June 2026 also saw the first flight of one of Elixir’s aircraft in the United States.
The latter marked a somewhat significant milestone for the company, as it has significant hopes for the US market. Elixir Aircraft is also investing in the setting-up of a support facility in Sarasota, Florida, to serve customers on the other side of the Atlantic from France.
