Luxembourg’s flag carrier Luxair confirmed that it is firming the options it had to acquire two Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft, while, at the same time securing also additional options for two more aircraft of the same type.
The carrier acquired two B737 MAX 10, plus the two options that have now been firmed, in 2024.
The announcement was made during Farnborough International Airshow on July 21, 2026, indicated that Luxair has affirmed its trust in the B737 family of aircraft.
Once all firm orders are delivered, Luxair will double its B737 MAX 10 fleet to four aircraft and will be operating also eight smaller B737 MAX 8 aircraft. Luxair also operates B737-700 and B737-800 aircraft.
“The Boeing 737-10 provides the additional capacity, operational efficiency and flexibility we need to support future demand while maintaining the high standards of quality, comfort and service our customers expect from Luxair,” stated Gilles Feith, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Luxair, when announcing the order.
Luxair operates its B737 MAX 10 with a 213-seat configuration on high-demand routes.
On the same day, Luxair also converted existing purchase rights for three Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, which it had secured in 2023, into firm orders. The airline has also secured an additional purchase rights for one more aircraft of the same type.
Luxair’s initial E-Jet order in October 2023 was for four E-195 E2 aircraft. That order has since been increased twice, although converted to the smaller E-190 E2 version, first to six aircraft, then to nine. Four of these aircraft are already in service.
