Lufthansa Group is rolling out Starlink Wi-Fi across all its partner airlines over the next three years, beginning later this month.
Work on the Starlink installation has already begun with a Lufthansa A320neo selected as the first aircraft to be deployed with the high-speed internet on August 19, 2026.
In January 2026, Lufthansa Group said that aircraft operated by SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, ITA Airways, Edelweiss, Discover Airlines, Air Dolomiti, Lufthansa City Airlines, and Eurowings would all benefit from Elon Musk’s low-earth satellite powered technology.
On August 10, 2026, Lufthansa Group confirmed that the service would be free to Miles & More members and Travel ID users.
Those passengers using Starlink on flights must agree to terms of use including wearing headphones when playing audio and video content.

Reflecting the wishes of the majority of Lufthansa Group customers surveyed by the airline, passengers will also refrain from making voice and video call and not broadcast live streams from aboard the aircraft.
“I am excited to announce the launch of the new Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi on board our Group aircraft,” Dieter Vranckx, CCO of the Lufthansa Group, said. “With it, we’re making high-speed internet an integral part of the travel experience – across all travel classes and on all Lufthansa Group airlines: That is how we understand premium.”
He added: “By 2029, all of the Group’s approximately 850 aircraft will be equipped with the technology. Our product promise doesn’t end with the seats or the menu – today, connectivity is also an integral part of a truly outstanding onboard experience.”
According to Lufthansa Group, it will be the largest airline group in Europe to equip its fleet with Starlink Wi-Fi.
The Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi portal will also be sponsored by Mastercard, which has already been a partner of the previous FlyNet.
