Etihad Airways has unveiled plans to roll out a new generation of its global lounge experience from summer 2027.
The announcement was made on September 16, 2026, during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) trade show in Dubai and is part of the airline’s “Beyond Borders” initiative. This is a broad-encompassing program which aims to revamp and strengthen the value proposition and experience that Etihad offers to its passengers.
The first of these newly revamped lounges will be at London-Heathrow (LHR), its flagship destination in Europe.
The announcement is consistent with Etihad’s closure of its Heathrow lounge, located at Terminal 4, in early September 2026for unspecified renovations. Etihad’s premium passengers have since been using Gulf Air’s Falcon Gold lounge at the same terminal.
Etihad’s Heathrow lounge is expected to reopen in summer 2027.
Few details have been revealed of the new lounge’s details, other than the fact that its design and visual language will be aligned with the themes of the broader “Beyond Borders” program, which also includes the introduction of new cabins across the airline’s A330 and A321LR fleet.
The new Etihad lounge will have a centrally placed bar and feature dedicated spaces for passengers travelling in business and first class, respectively. Passengers booked on the luxurious The Residence suites will also have their own exclusive lounge section.
After London-Heathrow, Etihad plans to renovate lounges at other destinations around the world to bring them to the same standard and ensure the consistency of the experience it offers.
No specific time frame has been provided regarding the rollout calendar.
