Entebbe-based carrier Uganda Airlines is preparing to expand its long-haul operations to the United Kingdom.

Reports from local media reveal that Uganda Airlines has set its sights on establishing flights to destinations in Europe and the United Kingdom following ongoing evaluations by the UK Civil Aviation Authority and the European Aviation Safety Agency.

The news comes after the airline resumed long-haul service on its Entebbe-Dubai route on January 8, 2021.

According to the airline’s CEO Jenifer Bamuturaki, Uganda Airline aims to expand its long-haul network in 2022 and operate direct flights to cities in Europe, the Middle East, India and the Far East.

As the airline pushes forward with its ambitious expansion plans, its fleet of Airbus A330-800neos could soon operate flights to both Dubai and London.
