A mule surprises security and passengers by walking into Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airport in Israel.
At night on July 24, 2019, a mule entered the Terminal 1 of Tel Aviv Ben Gurion (TLV) airport, to the surprise of the night shift workers. Questions are raised on how he managed to get into the airport.
The animal is approximately four or five years old and “in good health”, according to Agriculture Ministry of Israel. It is now going to be put up for adoption, according to a statement by the authority.
This is not the first time an unexpected visitor surprises airport workers. The most recently, a large brown bear walked through the personnel’s security gate at the Yelizovo Airport (Russia) in June 2019.
Previously, similar occurrences were recorded at Alaska (U.S.) airport in 2017 and Milan’s Linate (Italy) airport in 2007. In Alaska, a 450-pound (204 kg) bearded seal was caught lounging at the Wiley Post-Will Rogers Memorial Airport (BRW), which resulted in delayed flights. Milan Linate Airport (LIN) was shut down for a few hours because of the rapidly growing population of wild hares.
