Emirates to fly A380 in green as nod to sustainability

Emirates Airbus A380 will make a special fly past, opening the first afternoon of Dubai Airshow 2019 flying display. To make a special nod to Expo 2020 theme, sustainability, the Airbus A380 will be in green livery, while its blue counterpart will be displayed on the ground.

The Dubai Airshow might be starting on November 17, 2019, but Emirates is already planning ahead and promoting Expo 2020 Dubai. With less than a year left until the UAE’s flagship event, the Dubai-based airline is using liveries of its aircraft at the airshow to introduce the expo themes.

In particular, Emirates will showcase its Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER in blue and orange liveries to symbolize mobility and opportunity. In the air, a second Airbus superjumbo will be shown, painted in green livery to symbolize sustainability.

The Boeing 777-300ER with the orange livery will be appearing at the Dubai Airshow for the second time, as it was already displayed in 2017.

Emirates operates a 268 aircraft-strong fleet, composed of only two types of jets: the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777.
