Strata Manufacturing (UAE), a composite aero-structures firm, has delivered the first shipset of empennage ribs for the Boeing 777X, the company announced on the opening day of Dubai Airshow, November 17, 2019.

Strata, wholly-owned by Mubadala Investment Company, was awarded a contract by Boeing to develop empennage ribs for the 777X during the Abu Dhabi Global Aerospace Summit back in April 2018. The agreement is the fourth work package Boeing has awarded Strata since 2013.

The composite empennage ribs for the new 777X were manufactured at Strata’s facility in Nibras Al Ain Aerospace Park, Abu Dhabi. The company also manufactures empennage ribs for the Boeing 777 and vertical fin ribs for the 787 Dreamliner.

“As we embark on our second decade of operations, this milestone delivery is a new chapter in our ongoing success story with a long-trusted partner such as Boeing,” said Ismail Ali Abdulla, Chief Executive Officer of Strata, in an official press release.

Strata also manufactures various parts for Airbus A380, A330 and A350 aircraft families, as well as ATR 42/72 and Pilatus PC-24 aircraft.
