A new picture of a Boeing 737 MAX 10 has appeared on social media, suggesting that the fourth and last member of the MAX family has started taxi testing, ahead of its first flight expected later in 2020. 

Boeing officially unveiled the 737 MAX 10 at the company’s Renton, Washington factory in November 2019. The ceremony was attended by the company’s employees. 

Boeing 737 MAX 10 is the last remaining non-airborne variation of the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft family, which will eventually consist of four aircraft types. The MAX 10 is the largest plane in the family, as it can seat up to 230 passengers.

Like other 737 MAX models, the MAX 10 incorporates CFM International LEAP-1B engines, Advanced Technology winglets, Boeing Sky Interior, large flight deck displays, and other improvements, Boeing’s promo material outlines. Like other MAX aircraft, the -10 is understood to also feature the MCAS system.

Two other variants of the Boeing MAX family, the MAX 8 and MAX 9, were already certified and entered service, while the smallest family member, the MAX 7, completed the maiden flight in March 2018 and was expected for first delivery in 2019. Following two fatal crashes of MAX 8, all aircraft of the family have been globally grounded in March 2019.
