Emirates announced that its flagship Airbus A380 aircraft has returned to Moscow, Russia, expanding its double-decker network to six cities.
Citing strong passenger demand, Emirates indicated that its Airbus A380 will return to Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport (DME), with a twice-weekly flight on Fridays and Saturdays starting from September 18, 2020. Currently, the Dubai airline serves the Russian capital with its Boeing 777-300ER, after it restarted services to Moscow on September 11.
Seemingly, the company saw a lot of demand, as it only took Emirates a week to upgrade the route from its Triple Seven to the Airbus-made Super Jumbo.
Moscow joined Cairo, Egypt; Guangzhou, China; London, United Kingdom; and Toronto, Canada as cities that Emirates Airbus A380 serves. In total, the carrier currently flies to 85 destinations in its network – prior to the crisis, its network spanned 157 dots on the map, 50 of which were served by the double-decker aircraft.
